Staycation

This past week was a rather eventful week. Our little family of three was finally reunited. Ryan came home and to say we missed him is an understatement, but we made it through. Seeing Noah and Ryan together for the first time in months was such a heartwarming experience,Noah has been glued to Ryan’s hip since. But I’m not complaining.

I was so nervous that Ryan would come home and Noah wouldn’t remember him, he was a little stand offish at first but once he realized who Ryan was he has been so attached to him. And Ryan has been so attached to Noah. Since he has been home Ryan insists on putting Noah to bed every night, and has been waking up with him every morning. Most guys want to come home from deployment and sleep as much as they can, but not Ryan he wants to spend every possible second with Noah, which is one of the reasons why I love him so much, he is such a hands on father, he wants to be a part of every single aspect of Noah’s life down to the tiniest of things.

This week consisted of lots of day dates, long drives, shopping, trips to the beach, pretty much a little bit of everything.

Our staycation started on Thursday. Ryan, Noah and I went to this little Mexican restaurant here in town for lunch, Mexican food is Ryan’s favorite and after months without it he was craving a huge burrito! Noah was quite jealous of our burritos, but he did get some pretty tasty green beans instead!

After our little family lunch date we went to one of our favorite little towns by the water for some coffee and to walk around and do some shopping for Noah.

Friday we stayed in our pj’s half of the day and just lounged around and watched cartoons. That afternoon we went on a nice long drive out to another tiny little town out by the water, and it was gorgeous. Washington is absolutely breath taking in the fall, I love all of the trees when they change their colors.

Saturday we had somewhat of another lazy day at home, did some grocery shopping and had lots of play time with our little mister. We ended our day with an amazing dinner cooked by Ryan. . . Chimichungas! So good. And a movie night, with popcorn, candy, and wine, we watched Fast Five which was Ryan’s choice, and Bad Teacher, Noah also decided that he wanted to stay up late and join us.

Sunday was the last day of our staycation and we took full advantage of it with another trip to one of are favorite beach side towns, we drove around and did some window shopping and came home and had an early Sunday dinner like we do every week and just relaxed.

It was by far a great 4 days spent. Now its time to get back to reality, and get back into the swing of things.
